VP.Prodigy officially appeared on April 1 of this year, with the goal of creating a place for young CIS talents to develop experience and rise to tier 1. The move to online competition is the perfect opportunity for many squads to meet the strongest teams in the region.

In the first two months, VP.Prodigy surpassed the main team Virtus.pro in several tournaments. They finished second in the first season of WePlay! Pushka League, while the main VP team only ranked fourth. A few days later, the young men beat Virtus.pro 3-0 at the final of the Epic Prime League, a CIS-only tournament. And in early June, the 3rd place ESL One Birmingham Online, the tournament where the organization could not use both teams due to regulations from ESL One.

In recent weeks, more and more leagues have adopted regulations that prohibit organizations from using more than one team to avoid conflicts of interest. Like OG, Virtus.pro is forced to decide which team to choose. As a result, OG has decided to part ways with its two OG.Seed roster.

In mid-June 2020, Russian-language cybersports reported that Virtus.pro is looking to sell its two VP.Prodigy lineup. However, the organization denied all rumors and said that they “knew nothing about this”.

On Sunday, HellRaisers CEO Alekksey Slabukhin estimated the price of VP.Prodigy to be between $55,000 and $110,000 USD. In response, the VP CEO joked on Twitter about how much that price is for individual members or the entire team. In addition, he also confirmed that he is ready to participate in negotiations to transfer if the players find a “new destination”.

While Virtus.pro just made it to the top 6 at Beyond Epic, VP.Prodigy is yet to enter a tournament after ESL One Birmingham Online.
