Dota 2: Top strongest offlane 7.28

meta offlane

The meta is still not really stable and the game will probably have more balance patches in the near future, but today we will show which are the strongest offlane tops in the game right now. As before, the article will focus on pub meta statistics and what succeeds at high rank.

STRONGEST OFFLANE TO LEARN DOTA: BEASTMASTER

Dota 2: Top strongest offlaner meta 7.27d

Currently, it is very difficult to play high rank offlane in pub without knowing how to play Beastmaster. If there’s a hero you want to learn when you change roles, Beastmaster is probably the most appropriate name.

Obviously, Beastmaster is among the more difficult heroes to play, but with his crowd control and his strong followers, Beastmaster is probably the right hero to start learning the microphone. Also, hero’s minions don’t reward much gold or experience and have a low cooldown, so losing them shouldn’t be a big deal.

This hero is more successful at higher ranks: Beastmaster’s win rate and popularity increase with rank. This has always been true and is also one of the reasons why heroes are respected. Even when nerfed, the hero is still a good pick. Beastmaster requires learning every aspect of Dota, but you won’t be severely punished for making mistakes.

Beastmaster is probably the best hero to learn right now. Now, the hero is the most successful offlane in 4k+ games, thanks to a little buff from the Necronomicon in the previous update.

BEST OFFLANE FOR CASUAL MODE: UNDERLORD

Offlaner Dota 2

If microphones, learning to play Dota and ‘try hard’ are not your thing, then Underlord is a name worth picking. Out of all the offlane heroes, Underlord has perhaps the lowest skill requirements while still being highly effective.

Underlord hasn’t changed much in the patch and so has the win rate. Although the hero win rate gradually decreases at high ranks, that number has never dropped below 51%. Even at the worst of times, this hero is strong.

The other reason is simple: Underlord has a wave clear, dangerous aura, lane push potential, great ultimate macro, good control and stamina. Hero also has dozens of options in how to build. In more than 90% of games, you’ll need to build aura items and add to your team, but depending on the enemy hero, players can adjust their priorities.

If you don’t feel the need to ‘try hard’ but still want to win, Underlord is the best choice today. In addition, this hero is also great for those who are not good at the mechanics of using complex heroes and high ping.

POWERFUL OFFLANE PLAYING IN PARTY: DARK SEER

Offlaner Dota 2

Dark Seer is not as popular today, but the win rate has never dropped below 52%. Hero is quite strong in the current meta. However, to promote their strength requires the team to know how to coordinate. Therefore, Dark Seer is strongest when you play in party of at least 2 people, should be three or better stack 5.

The current Dark Seer revolves around Aghanim’s Scepter, the item should be up as soon as possible. +350 HP for Ion Shell from green stick, combined with increased duration as well as charge is too good an upgrade. If the Dark Seer previously wanted to reach level 15 as soon as possible (to get the talent), now the only thing DS needs is gold. With the way this hero farm, it’s probably easier to get gold.

However, if you only pick Dark Seer in the party just to increase the HP of current paper-healthy agility carries, it’s really boring. Combine Dark Seer with Disruptor or Jakiro to create amazing combos, or Shadow Demon and Grimstroke for Dark Seer, leaving opponents to face themselves first.

STRONGEST OFFLANE TO Plow SOLO: TIDEHUNTER

Offlaner Dota 2

High win rate, independent of lane support and strong late game potential are the criteria for solo players to pick Tidehunter. One thing to clarify: the article does not encourage you to go to Aghanim’s Shard early in the game. It’s strong, but damage isn’t what this hero is after in normal games.

This is an option that helps buff the team later in the game, especially if the carry has trouble dealing damage. But that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t prioritize it, because in some games, Tidehunter has the potential to carry the whole game.

But it’s not your plan A: Tidehunter’s priority has always been to create space for carry and open and flip teamfights. It could be a potential plan C, worth trying on my next solo, if the time permits.
