We have seen many strong teams appear in the region recently. Unfortunately, only two were able to make it to the Major, forcing the remaining four teams to scramble for two spots to the WePlay! Bukovel Minor.
Gambit Esports, Team Spirit, HellRaisers and Gentlemen are the four CIS teams that must fight in double-elimination to reach the Minor. The day before, the first team to get into the Minor was Gambit when they beat HellRaisers and Spirit without losing a game. Both were pushed to the losing bracket, HR had the opportunity to make it to its first DPC event of 2020 when it won against Gettlemen to duel the BO5 series with Spirit.
It’s clear that both teams are eager to make it to the Minor, with HR participating in the previous round and finishing 3rd. Spirit, despite making it to the Major, was the first team to be eliminated. The series was tense, with Spirit finishing game 1 in just 17 minutes, but it wasn’t until game 5 that we determined victory. In the end, Spirit proved to be the stronger team, beat HR in the last game and won tickets to WePlay! Bukovel Minor in January 2020.
The Minor’s CIS qualifiers are over with Gambit Esports and Team Spirit heading to Bukovel to find their ticket to the DreamLeague Season 13 Major.
