Team Secret will be the second organization to announce not attending the first Major of the new season. The team also said that they will not change the lineup “for the time being”, causing fans to raise many question marks.

Team Secret ranked 4th at The International 2019 this year. It was their best TI result ever. Despite starting the main event from the winning bracket, Evil Geniuses knocked Secret down to the losing bracket from the first round. With the possibility of being eliminated if he lost a series, Secret survived three more rounds before being eliminated by Team Liquid. Although close to the final of the losing bracket, Team Secret still performed in underperformance and Yeik “MidOne” Nai Zheng was the one who received the most criticism.

“Our journey was not as long as expected. The ultimate goal, from players to management and partners, has always been to win TI, and our efforts in the 2019-2020 season will continue to reflect that,” Team Secret said on September 26, when they announced that the new season would start later, to give the players more time to ‘charge up’.

Also according to the announcement, Secret will attend the first LAN of the new season at the ONE Esports Dota 2 World Pro Invitational Singapore from December. It also confirmed the team will not attend ESL One Hamburg as well as the upcoming DreamLeague Season 12.

Besides Secret, PSG.LGD is not the only organization to announce an extra break and decide to attend the first Major of the season – MDL in Chengdu, China from November 16 to 26, meanwhile, the champion Two-time TI, OG, is also expected to miss the first Major, as both Anathan “ana” Pham and Topias Miikka “Topson” Taavitsainen have both announced their intention to retire.
