The final of China Dota 2 SuperMajor takes place between Virtus.pro against Team Liquid, with the winning team taking home the title and final rewards of the first DPC season.
Team Liquid was forced to give their best in this final. Despite being the champion of TI last year, Liquid have yet to claim a championship title in the first DPC season. This will be their last chance to do so, and after stellar performances throughout SuperMajor, Liquid is finally bagging a title. But their final opponent standing in the way is the current top of the DPC rankings, Virtus.pro. The CIS team dominated throughout the season and was rated slightly better, when they had previously neutralized PSG.LGD. Both teams already have tickets to The International 2018, the series is a great way to end the first season of DPC.

The opening match was a tug-of-war between the two sides, but Liquid gradually took control and almost got their first victory. However, VP didn’t give up easily, fighting, and the CIS boys almost could have turned the tables.
Regrettably, Liquid held their ground once again and claimed their first win in the BO5 streak.
VP, not wanting to lose for the second time in a row, played extremely quickly in the next game and took a big early game advantage. The CIS team was unstoppable on every battlefield, hitting one phase after another, not giving Liquid a chance to respond.
At one point, Liquid found an opening to come back, but it wasn’t strong enough and the series went into a 1-1 draw.
With epic plays from ‘Mind_Control’ Beast Master and GH’s Windrunner, Liquid won kills from a distance, creating notable highlights in game three. They entered the enemy high ground in less than 20 minutes and eliminated a lane barrack.
Liquid’s Drow Ranger lineup put too much pressure on VP forcing the opponent to knock GG soon after. The TI champion got himself champoint point first.
The finals produced great Dota 2 moves from both teams, and game 4 was no different. Knowing he had to win to keep his hopes of surviving the finals alive, VP played a fast-paced game again. Not allowing Miracle’s Tinker to farm, VP won quickly with RAMZES666’s Slark near-immortal.
The finals produced great moments from both Liquid and VP, but in the end the tournament could only have one SuperMajor champion. The finals dragged on to the final game, the 5th game.
This was another compelling game as VP had a lead at times early in the game but it wasn’t enough against Liquid’s thirst for titles. Liquid found the perfect teamfight to change the game and in less than 30 minutes, Liquid was on the high ground, breaking through VP’s defense. With multiple buybacks from both sides, VP secured his barracks. Unfortunately, Liquid almost found its way to the SuperMajor championship. for myself.
Keeping VP at their base, Liquid pressured every lane and in the final teamfight, GG was called. Team Liquid lifted the China Dota 2 SuperMajor trophy – finally claiming their first Major DPC title.

Now, with the first DPC season officially over, all eyes will be on The International 2018. With the team’s regional qualifiers coming up, fans will have a lot to watch with Dota 2 in the near future.
