While the first Major of the DPC Season 2019-2020 is entering the Main Event in Chengdu, China, the veterans and some young names are preparing for the second qualifying round of DPC.
Only one week left until the open qualifiers for the closed qualifiers of the DreamLeague Leipzig Major (DreamLeague Season 13) and WePlay! Bukovel Minor 2020 begins. We have some unexpected names appearing on Dota 2’s registration page.
A new opponent has appeared in Southeast Asia, with the participation of familiar legends. Chai “Mushi” Yee Fung will likely take the carry position in the newly formed Brothers United team. Side by side with Mushi will be Malaysian player Ng “YamateH” Wei Poong and old friend Khoo “Ohaiyo” Chong Xin. The three will fight alongside two Filipino players, Benhur “Benhur” Lawis and Ryan “Bimbo/Raging-_-Potato” Jay Qui.
Brothers United has many players in the same role. YamateH, Mushi and Benhur can all play mid, however Mushi recently played as a position 5 support for a brief stint with Keen Gaming earlier this season. Ohaiyo has never left the offlane position throughout his career, but Bimbo has switched between carry, offlane, and support over the years. His recent team is Mineski. He left Mineski after TI9 when the entire roster disbanded.
At TI9 and pre-tournament practice, Bimgo worked with Mushi, then Mineski’s coach. Mushi and Ohaiyo have a long history of working together, starting from TI2-TI3 at Orange Esports, then Titan, Team Malaysia, Fnatic. And YamateH was in the Orange and Titan lineup with Ohaiyo. The bond between these members perfectly reflects the name of the team, Brothers United.
Brothers United squad:
- Bottle of “Mushi” Yee Fung
- Ng “YamateH” Wei Poong
- Khoo “Ohaiyo” Chong Xin
- Benhur “Benhur” Lawis
- Ryan “Bimbo/Raging_Potato” Jay Qui
The open qualifiers are scheduled to start next week on November 28, while the closed qualifiers start on December 1.
