Immortal (5420+ MMR)
Immortal is the king of Dota 2. All Immortal gamers must know every nook and cranny of the game. Each Immortal rank match can be extremely stressful.
You will have a chance to enter the regional rankings as you move up the ranks and will have a chance to be recruited by professional teams.
How does Rank Immortal work? Regional rankings
Immortal is not the end goal of passionate Dota 2 gamers. Winning in Immortal rank still gives you MMR. From there, you will strive to enter the regional rankings.
Your rank in that region will be shown just below the rank icon, but you’ll need to have played at least one ranked game in your region’s 21 days to keep it there. If you don’t meet this requirement, you will be removed from the leaderboard due to inactivity but the MMR will remain the same.
How does the role queue work?
Valve has been experimenting with role queue since 2019 and has updated a few things for this system in 2020 to make it work more smoothly. There used to be two separate ranks for core and support, but now they are combined into one. Core role includes safe lane, mid lane, off-lane while support role includes soft support and hard support.
While this system helps to put an end to role competition in the game, it does increase queue times for high tier players. You still have the option to choose the Classic queue system, but we can turn it on if the matchmaking process takes too long (and as long as you can play all the roles).
The role queue will gradually shape the type of player and ensure you don’t get severely penalized if you lose a match and you don’t play the main role correctly. Most of the supports can play the right role in every game, but for the core, we can’t always play the core role. And then, you might be forced to play support.
However, this sacrifice will give you tokens so that I can play the right role in the next game. Also your MMR will be deducted less based on your playing ability. Matchmaking considers your MMR when finding games in your best roles. Finding games in a bad role will cause matchmaking to place you in a low MMR match so you don’t feel much weaker when playing in an unfamiliar position.
In general, you usually gain or lose 25-30 MMR depending on the outcome of the match. In addition, we also have the option to bet twice the number of MMR in seasonal events.
How to determine when to rank up, when to downgrade in Dota 2?
You can see the MMR in your profile, but it is difficult to predict when to rank up because the MMR range is constantly adjusting.
Your next rank up will be hidden until you get at least 70%. A percentage bar will appear below your rank to determine if you are about to rank up. There is no way to know how the next game will affect this percentage bar, but you can see it increase/decrease based on your ability to play in the match. This means that playing well in a losing game can also increase your rank.
