The last three teams to qualify for The International 8 are North American contender OpTic Gaming, three-time Valve Major champion OG, and Philippine superstar TNC Predator. The 18 teams that attended TI8 didn’t have many surprising faces, as the vast majority of teams were in the top 20 of the Dota 2 Pro Circuit rankings.

Among the teams that made it to the qualifiers, OG’s journey in Europe stood out the most. After they lost Fly and offlaner S4 on May 25, OG quickly adjusted their roster to prepare for the European qualifiers. Although there was not much time, OG dominated the European qualifiers, playing perfectly in the group stage and only losing 2 maps in the inner round.
However, there is another famous team that is not on this list. Legendary Na`Vi failed to make it through the regional qualifiers, leading to a surprise elimination.
The 90 participating players will have about two months to prepare before they march to conquer the Aegis TI8 shield.
