The creator of the Overwatch 2 project has left Blizzard.
Looks like 2021 is going to be a big year for Blizzard. While the company is “flooded” with accusations of bad office culture, discrimination, and sexual harassment, a series of key figures have left.
Starting from president J. Allen Brack, human resources director Bobby Kotick, to the series of Diablo IV and World of Warcraft, now Blizzard continues to have to part with an excellent game developer, Chacko Sonny. Before leaving Blizzard’s post, Chacko Sonny served as the executive producer on Overwatch and Overwatch 2.

Before joining Blizzard in 2016, Chacko Sonny was a key player at Sony Santa Monica (producer of God of War). For more than 5 years working on Overwatch projects, Chacko Sonny has been at the forefront of the development of part 2 of this game series.

With the departure of Chacko Sonny, Blizzard can now be said to be a mess. Diablo Immortal has been postponed, Diablo IV went silent, and now Overwatch 2 is likely to be suspended indefinitely as well. It will take Blizzard a long, long time to find worthy replacement faces. 2021 is indeed a sad year for Blizzard and their fans.
