The post-Major transfer window has begun. Below is a list of the announced information as well as the rumors.
With every Major coming to an end, we’ve always had a hot transfer window. Teams that don’t get the results they want will change rosters, while the free and subs take advantage of this opportunity to find new places.
This time around, it’s not much different, and will likely be more exciting as the StarLadder Major takes place right after the players break – a period when the team usually adjusts the lineup but can’t due to having to attend the Major.
Officially confirmed
Let’s start with the changes that have been officially confirmed by the organizations.
ENCE exchanged Aleksib for suNny
Even though it wasn’t the result of the Major, ENCE announced it would change. This announcement was made before the Berlin period, Miikka “suNny” Kemppi will take the place of Aleksi “Aleksib” Virolainen. Meaning Aleksi “allu” Jalli is the new IGL of the team.
MIBR returned to kNgV-
Similarly, MIBR has been preparing the idea of a blood change for a long time. At the StarLadder Major, the team’s coach Wilzton “zews” Prado played in place of Marcelo “coldzera” David. After their journey in Germany ended in the New Legends round, Vito “kNgV-” Giuseppe also obtained a P-visa. 1 to join MIBR.
Zeus is about to retire
Natus Vincere will lose a member after BLAST Pro Series Moscow. The last member of the original lineup from 2010, Danylo “Zeus” Teslenko, decided to hang up the mouse. This move has been long awaited, as 2018 the 31-year-old announced his plans to retire next year. This will open the way for Kirill “Boombl4” Mikhailov to become the IGL of Na`Vi. Zeus’ replacement could be a young AWPer like Dmitry “sh1ro” Sokolov or a veteran like Ladislav “GuardiaN” Kovács (rumored to leave FaZe), or simply a rifler. It all depends on whether the organization wants to keep Aleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev in his current role or move to a new role.
Vitality type NBK-
While the Major was in progress, Vitality decided to remove Nathan “NBK-” Schmitt after tension within the team due to ideological differences between the two IGLs. The 25-year-old said he plans to switch to internationals, with his two former teammates Richard “shox” Papillion and Fabien “kioShiMa” Fiey.
fnatic rebuild without twist and Xizt
The Swedish team was among the first names to change blood after being eliminated at the Europe Minor. Simon “twist” Eliasson and Richard “Xizt” Landström left the starting lineup, while Andreas “Samuelsson” Samuelsson will replace Jimmy “Jumpy” Berndtsson as a coach. Aside from Jesper “JW” Wecksell in talks with Adam “friberg” Friberg, we don’t know the direction of the team, but it is clear that fnatic is looking for an IGL, with the two most prominent being Robin. “flusha” Rönnquist and Maikil “Golden” Selim, two former members of the organization.
GeT_RiGhT will leave NiP soon
Speaking of Swedish Counter-Strike, for the past three months, people still don’t know Christopher’s future “GeT_RiGhT” How is Alesund, while NiP is looking for a long-term replacement for him. Meanwhile, the team used Golden at the StarLadder Major instead of Nicolas “Plopski” Gonzalez Zamora. Like fnatic, IGL will be an extremely sensitive position – a problem the team has struggled with over the past year, but AWPer is also quite a weak point for the organization as they have not had a dedicated AWPer since the time of William “draken” Sundin.
HellRaisers starts at 0
HellRaisers will completely remove the current squad to organize the evaluation of options during this transfer period. With Tomáš “oskar” astny, Issa “ISSAA” Murad, Christian “loWel” Garcia Antoran, and ygimantas “nukkye” Chmieliauskas have all said they are looking for a new challenge, it looks like the new HR will revolve around Kirill “ANGE1” Karasiow once again.
Complexity parted ways with Rickeh to rebuild
Complexity’s early elimination at the StarLadder Major forced an early change to the organization. CEO Jason Luke urged Tier 1 players who are looking for a fresh start to contact him quickly. The first to leave was Ricardo “Rickeh” Mulholland. On the stream, he said the team was considering adding Filip “NEO” Kubski and kioShiMa, but this was denied by Lake.
Grayhound looking for an alternative to erkaSt
In August, Erdenetsogt “erkaSt” Gantulga was unable to obtain a visa to stay in Australia and the StarLadder Major was his last tournament with the team. Now that the tournament has ended, the Mongolian player has contacted fellow countrymen like Batbayar “kabal” Bat-Enkh and Gan-Erdene “dobu” Batbold is on the AUGUST team, and Grayhound is looking for a new star. Likely Joshua “INS” Potter, who broke up with ORDER last month. Meanwhile, the organization also said goodbye to coach Neil “NeiL_M” Murphy.
Rumors
FaZe in the process of replacing GuardiaN and NEO
The FaZe lineup was always the focus of discussion throughout 2019, as the European team struggled to find a proper IGL before adding NEO in May. The results were not so positive that forced the organization to change. So many more members, with NEO and GuardiaN being the ones to leave very high. According to many sources, coldzera is a good candidate and Aleksib is another option, due to the team’s lack of IGL. The team is also training with Halvijs “broky” Saukants, who recently left ex-Epsilon.
G2 internationalizes with superstars CR4ZY
G2’s early departure at the New Legend round shows that the organization intends to internationalize, with shox and Lucas “Lucky” Chastang going to be the ones to leave to make way for CR4ZY duo, Nemanja “nexa” Isakovic and Nemanja “huNter-“ Kovač. This rumor was further confirmed when the CEO of CR4ZY himself, Antonio Meic, criticized G2 on Tweet for trying to rob his players.
