FaZe came up against Cloud9 2-1 and won the ELEAGUE CS:GO Invitational trophy.

Things quickly fell apart for the European team at Mirage, the opening map of the series. To lose the pistol round, NiKo and rain still have no frags after the first 7 rounds.

After using the tactical pause, FaZe finally scored for himself thanks to rain’s quad-kill, but then Cloud9 counterattacked. The North American team continued to take the lead after switching sides, with FaZe finishing the round only dropping bombs once – in the first round of the game.

Down 1-14, FaZe hit back hard, losing only one member in the pistol round. Unfortunately, their journey to recovery soon ended. The successful split B in round 3 helped Cloud9 reach the map point and the team did not pass up the opportunity to finish the first map.

FaZe stepped into Inferno with a completely different look, leading 6-1 thanks to the solid CT barrier. kioShiMa unexpectedly clutched party A successfully, but the European team soon took revenge in the next round.

Cloud9 responded with a half-baked hit that disrupted FaZe’s economy. rain quickly calmed down and won full eco in the next round with three kills with P250. FaZe then tightened the defence, overwhelmingly leading 11-4.

Sang T, FaZe widened the gap with NiKo’s 1v2 clutch. Cloud9 reacted immediately and began his journey to reverse.

FaZe wasn’t ready to let the game get out of control and hit the map point first thanks to olofmesiter with his AWP – a treble when he only had 1HP left. Cloud9 tried to find the hole but FaZe didn’t let the Boston final replay and quickly finished the second map.

With the psychological advantage, FaZe entered the decisive map with Train on the T side, leading 2-0. Cloud9 responded with a successful gun phase, equalizing the score 2-2.

And the performance of GuardiaN begins. The AWPer superstar ended Cloud9’s winning streak with a quadruple in round eco, before a 1v4 clutch to complete his ace. FaZe continued to dominate the opponent to end the first half with the score 11-4.

Things took a turn for the worse for Cloud9 as they lost the first three rounds in the second half. However, refusing to surrender, Cloud9 claimed their first victory thanks to flusha’s 1v2 clutch. The Sweden international tried to revive the team spirit with a miraculous comeback, just like last year’s IEM Katowice final. Unfortunately, the Cloud9 army had to stop in the 25th round: GuardiaN continued to shine and achieved 34 kills in this map.
