Evil Geniuses (EG) mid player Abed Azel “Abed” Yusop has entered history as the first player to reach a matchmaking rating (MMR) of 11,000.

The 19-year-old Filipino player showed off his achievements on Twitter.

As one of Dota 2’s most talented players, Abed is no longer a stranger to MMR records in his five-year career. In March 2017, he became the first Filipino player to reach 9,000 MMR. Just three months later, he became the first player to hit 10,000 solo MMR.

Less than two years after becoming an original member of the 10K MMR club, Abed became the first player to reach 10,000 solo MMR in Valve’s new Medal-based matchmaking system.

With the Dota Pro Circuit on hiatus and the Dota 2 tournament changing to an online format because of the Corona epidemic, professional players now have more time to play pubs and increase their MMR.

In Abed’s case, this pandemic means he can’t play online for EG due to his high ping from the Philippines to the North American server, creating an unimaginable disadvantage when playing.
