CSGO: FaZe Clan is supposed to acquire ALEX from Vitality

IGL (in-game leader or in-game captain) is always a valuable asset in CSGO. Now, many teams are looking to find IGL to fill the gap in the roster.

Given that many teams lack an experienced captain, it’s not surprising that Vitality’s Alex “ALEX” McMeekin is one of the most sought after by professional CSGO teams today. One of the names looking for a captain is FaZe Clan. According to 1pv, the team is negotiating to own ALEX.

FaZe struggled at first when they lost IGL Finn “karrigan” Andersen in 2018. The star roster has always struggled, but is on the upswing thanks to strong play in online tournaments.

It looks like FaaZe is still missing one more piece of the formula to be the best CSGO team in the world, and ALEX is probably just what they need. The organization still has a vacancy left by Olod “olofmeister” Kajbjer Gustafsson. FaZe is still playing with the stand-in Aurimas “Bymas” Pipiras.

The price of ALEX is quite high. According to reports, Vitality demanded $600,000 for the transfer fee. Despite such a high price, Cloud9, FunPlus Phoenix and c0ntact Gaming are also said to be interested in owning ALEX’s signature.

ALEX seems to have no face but with Vitality

ALEX left the Vitality roster in March, saying the overly demanding life of a professional CSGO player doesn’t suit him anymore.

Despite the loss, Vitality quickly adapted when he recruited Kévin “misutaaa” Rabier and brought Dan “apEX” Madesclaire into the IGL position. This move seems to be a success for Vitality as it has consistently won high rankings in recent tournaments.

Although ALEX was born in England, he made a name for himself playing in France. Thanks to his leadership, Vitality reached new heights in 2019 and almost became the #1 CSGO team in the world: after an extremely eventful summer that included 1st place at ECS Season 7 and many other tournaments.

With the current status of CSGO, FaZe Clan is likely to be the first candidate to sign ALEX. The team has a history of spending a lot of money recruiting top-notch free agents, and ALEX could be just what it takes to get to the top of the world.
