Compare Valorant’s defuse mode with CSGO

Valorant is a name that has been mentioned a lot lately. Recently, in March 2020, Riot Games has continuously teased information about Valorant and the bomb removal mode that its first FPS child owns.

Since then, fans of the FPS genre have been excitedly poring over every detail from the trailer: what skills the game’s heroes have, how Valorant’s economy is different from CSGO’s, etc.

Currently, Defuse is the only mode that has been revealed in Valorant. In addition, it is still unclear if Riot Games’ first-person shooter game will have any other modes. So how is Valorant’s defuse mode different from the CSGO giant’s mode of the same name?

Anyone who has watched or played through CSGO knows the goal of the two teams in Defuse mode: One team will try to put the bomb down and time it to explode, and the other team will prevent it.

Still carrying that goal, but Valorant defuse mode still has a few differences compared to CSGO’s predecessor.

After watching the trailer, Spike – the name of the “bomb” in Valorant – needs 45 seconds to explode. The spike removal process seems to take 7.5 seconds, and currently there is no word on whether Valorant has a defuse kit that reduces the time to defuse bombs like in CSGO.

Unfortunately, it’s impossible to say exactly how long the spike will take from the trailer. 45 seconds to explode and 7.5 seconds to defuse the bomb is similar to Call of Duty’s Search and Destroy mode, so there is a high chance that the spike process also takes 5 seconds.

Compared to CSGO, the time to place the bomb is 3 seconds, allowing the attacker more time to place as well as establish a defensive position.

Many players have theorized that spike removal can be cumulative – for example, you could remove the 3 seconds, pause, and then continue to remove the last 3.5 seconds.

However, this is still just a hypothesis and has not been officially confirmed. Still, it can add new depth to gameplay, and the purpose of the split bar below the spike remains unclear.

Riot Games seems to be learning a lot from other bomb defusing modes in current FPS games to create Valorant and if the father of League of Legends succeeds, this will probably be a big hit. in the FPS game market, which has been saturated in recent times.
