A few months ago, Activision and Treyarch held an online press conference to announce the first-person shooter title, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, with three different Zombie experiences at launch. Now, the studio has decided to give us a better look at the two modes – Voyage of Despair and IX – with a new story trailer.
As we see in the Chaos Story Zombie trailer, the character Scarlett Rhodes tries to figure out the cause of her father’s mysterious disappearance. Instead of traveling alone, she will go with three other characters including Diego, Bruno and Shaw to fight the zombie army and discover an artifact containing “terrible power that threatens humanity.”
During this journey, Scarlett and her teammates went back in time. More specifically, the group has to fight zombies aboard the Titanic in Voyage of Despair mode, while IX takes them back to 9th century Rome. IX is somewhat more attractive because fans are not only confronted with human zombies but also meet the Bengal tigers that have turned into zombies. The trailer also confirms that guns can be used even though the character is in the sword and spear era.
Unlike its predecessors, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 will not have a plot. This part will focus on Zombie and newer Battle Royale mode. Hopefully, the lack of a plot won’t hurt the quality of the series in the long run.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is slated to release on October 12, 2018 on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
