Blizzard has yet to make an official statement on the matter, but the company is currently refunds remastered version of Warcraft 3: Reign of Chaos via Battle.net.

According to fans on the subreddit, Blizzard’s customer service is giving refunds to players regardless of how long they’ve played the title. User krOnicLTD has been playing Warcraft 3: Reforged for over five hours and still got a refund with no issues. Other users also report that automatic refunds are instant.

Warcraft 3: Reforged launched on PC last week and did not receive a positive response from the fan community. The game’s main subreddit and Blizzard’s own forums are full of negative posts and complaints from players who feel cheated in part due to the quality of the game compared to the remastered version shown by Blizzard at Blizzcon 2018. Although the game has sharper updated graphics and models than the original, it still can’t match the 2018 version.

In addition, the custom campaigns in the original version are not compatible with Reforged and players cannot create their own custom campaigns. The remaster also removes other traditional features like clan support and competitive play.

Warcraft 3: Reforged became the game with the lowest user rating on Metacritic ever with a score of 0.5. Critics on Metacritic were somewhat more lenient when giving the game 61 points.

However, there are still some fans who are quite optimistic. VG24/7 reporter Nic Reuben is well aware of Reforge’s bugs, but he commented that he still had a great experience with the game and that “Warcraft 3: Reforge is not as catastrophic as you think”.
