It’s been almost a year since Valve said it stopped updating Artifact regularly to develop the game again. While we haven’t heard much more about the game, the developer has embarked on a reboot of the game. Recently, Gabe Newell said that the update was so big that they were forced to call it Artifact 2.

“We tested, got negative results, and now the team needs to show that we have learned something,” Gabe told Edge, “so let’s try again. And that’s what the Artifact team is doing and that’s what they’re about to launch. Based on the feedback from it, where did the product go wrong? How do we get there? Let’s fix them together and try again.”

Gabe said Vlave had to “do a big reboot to prove the game’s existence to customers and the market,” but at the moment, no one knows what the reboot will look like. When Valve released the article “Towards a Better Artifact” in March 2019, the studio said “they expect this testing and development to take a lot of time” – how long will it take? let’s see.

Gabe Newell has calmed down her frustrations with Artifact in recent interviews. “Steam Machine, Artifact was a big disappointment, we failed.” In another interview, Gabe said Half-Life: ALynx will be an opportunity for Valve to prove that “miracle is still there”.

Although Valve hasn’t released any details about Artifact 2 – or what its official name is – a lot of rumors about the game are slowly leaking out. Let’s wait for more new information about this card game.
