Apex Legends will reduce game crashes after the latest update

Apex Legends has had a pretty busy week with the new Octane character and the first Battle Pass. And yet, the development team is constantly improving the stability of the game and the latest update will fix most of the game crashes that players encounter on PC.

With the patch update on Tuesday, the game now creates a .txt file in the My Documents folder when the crash occurs, and this information helped Respawn prepare for the recent stable update. Players have submitted .txt files to the team – they also visit the forums for repair information.

“The good news is that the files you gave us gave us great information and revealed a few crash locations, and we discovered a lot. One of the crashes came from one part of the software changing the memory used by another part. These are the hardest bugs to find,” the team wrote on Reddit. We never saw that crash in internal testing, but now members can reproduce it, which means we can find and fix it.”

The third update will fix memory-related crashes – the team is also fixing other crashes, but they’re “much less common”. “This is an improvement, but we don’t expect this patch to be the solution to all crashes and the team is still working on it.”

If the game crashes, you can submit your .txt file to the development team through the game forum.
