More than a year ago, Remedy announced the signing of a contract to publish two games on PC and console with Epic Games. One of the two games is Alan Wake 2. Remedy was looking for a publisher to sponsor Alan Wake 2 and Epic are the best contenders.

When the deal was announced in 2020, Remedy said the other project would be developed in the same universe, but on a smaller scale. Alan Wake 2 may be in pre-production at this point.

Epic has also signed a follow-up project development contract with Gen Design and Playdead in a campaign to build exclusive games for its platform, in addition to buying timed exclusive games as before.

It should come as no surprise that Remedy will return for Alan Wake, as the developer has managed to form a connection between different games in the same universe. Creative director Sam Lake said that the studio’s new project will take place in the Control and Alan Wake universes. Remedy has been quite busy lately. The Finnish developer is currently working on Crossfire X’s single-player campaign as well as another mysterious game project.
