Diablo, the hit hack-and-slash game released in 1996, is now playable on the website. The product of Rivsoft (a company that focuses on Blizzard-related projects) will let you play the game for free in a web browser, but if you already own the original you can play the full game .
According to Rivsoft, the port is based on source code “rebuilt” by two teams of developers. They kept the “bad code and game bugs” of the original game. If you already own the original game (currently available for purchase on GOG), you can find the file and drag and drop it onto the website to access the full version of the game.
But the demo is good enough if you just want to play around: according to the Wikipedia page, the shareware covers the first two areas of the dungeon and one of the game’s three classes.
You can try out Diablo on the website here.
