World of Warcraft: Shadowslands sees Sylvanas end the Lich King's rule

Blizzard has just announced the next big expansion for the MMORPG, World of Warcraft. Ion Hazzikostas says it’s not over yet after Battle for Azeroth – ahead of the launch of the new adventure trailer.

Sylvanas went to the Frozen Throne and fought the Lich King, defeating him and breaking the helmet containing the Lich King. A rift opened in the sky, and Sylvanas promised to free Azeroth.

Shadowlands is due out next year, and the expansion will take you to the land of the dead. The last expansion, World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth – the seventh installment since the game’s release in 2004 – was announced nearly two years ago, at BlizzCon 2017, and released in August 2018. In recent times, WoW players have had the opportunity to participate in Azeroth style 2016 with WoW Classic. Launched this past August 2019, Classic takes players back on a journey from 13 years ago.
