This March 22nd, Monster Hunter: World will get its first major update. The game will not only add new monsters in Devijho, but the gameplay will also change. The biggest change this time will be related to weapon items, including a series of buffs and nerfs for all weapons, except for the Light Bowgun and the Heavy Bowgun.
In the latest video stream from Capcom, we have the full updated list of weapons that will appear in Monster Hunter: World this March 22:
Great Sword – Charged Slash skills increase damage
- Charged Slash II, II and Strong Charged Slash II, III – Damage increased
Long Sword – Improved time to receive Foresight Slash and hitbox (hits)
- Foresight Slash – Watch and hitbox time to activate increased. Damage on hit is also increased. Widen the angle of attack so that the player can control the direction of the attack.
- Spirit Help Breaker – (Bug Fix) Once cast, you will now no longer be knocked back (fall back) until you land on the ground.
Sword & Shield – Roundlash damage increased and slinger usability improved
- Roundslash – Increases Damage
- Wedge beetles can now be used while slinger with your weapon drawn
Hammer – Changed stun value for charged attacks
- Charge Tier 2 – Charged Upswing stun value increased.
- Charge Tier 3 – Charged Big Bang stun value increased.
Huntin Horn – Normal attack damage increased
- Encore effect for Self-Improvement now also increases your attack power (effect is now “Attack Up + Deflected Attack prevention” – increases attack and prevents attacks from being bounced)
Gunlance – Reduces wear when using shelling, and increases attack damage
- Shelling – Damage increases when wear is gold or less (yellow, red)
- Wear reduced for all Wyrmstake Cannon and Wyvern’s Fire attacks
- Wyrmstake Cannon and Wyvern’s Fire – Damage increased.
Switch Ax – Zero Sum Discharge changed to be easier to use
- Zero Sum Discharge – Level 4 Earplugs effect occurs while cast.
- Zero Sum Discharge Finisher – Damage increased.
- Zero Sum Discharge – (Bug Fix) Once cast, you will not be knocked back until you land on the ground.
- Mounted Dischar Finisher – No more wear.
- It is now possible to combo from Sword: Jumping Element Discharge to Zero Sum Discharge.
Charge Blade – Balance change for Impact Phial and Power Element Phial
- Attack power increased from effects except Artillery (for Impact Phials’ explosive attacks) changed
- Ax: Super Amped Element Discharge – Impact Phials stun value reduced.
- Ax: Super Amped Element Discharge – Power Element Phial’s explosive range is closer to make them easier to hit
- Phial’s stun value increased for all attacks except Ax: Super Amped Element Discharge.
- Element value increased for all phials’ attacks.
Insect Glaive – Improved to increase Extract’s damage and length
- Improved the effect of red/white and red/white/orange Extract’s attacks
- Extract time increased
- Extract time no longer decreases while riding a monster
Lance – Changed to make it easier to use
- Counter-thrust – Temporarily knockback when the counter-thrust succeeds.
Dual Blades – Demon Gaugde is easier to maintain
- Demon Gauge – Can now be increased with roushslash in Demon Mode and Demon Flurry Rush
- Demon Mode – Fixed an issue where you could not cancel Demon Mode when switching from Demon Dodge.
Bow – Fixed some bugs
- Dashing Shot – Fixed an issue where the Spread/Power Shots effect would occur twice in a row.
- Dragon Piercer – Fixed an issue where it was previously possible to shoot past the attack’s range limit. Now, will shoot directly from the character, no matter where the camera angle is and when the camera view exceeds the limit of the range.
Light Bowgun and Heavy Bowgun – No change
In addition to the above changes, on March 16, Capcom will be sending out “Hunter Personal Grooming Tickets” to all players giving them a chance to change the look of their characters. However, if the player wants to change it later, they will have to pay, because in the future they will be paid DLC.
