After passing the StarLadder ImbaTV Minor to win the right to participate, Vici Gaming overcame all competitors to become the DreamLeague Season 11 champion.
During the entire event, Vici lost only one series – that was to Evil Geniuses when they faced off in their group stage win.

After that, the Chinese dark horse stabilized the lineup and defeated the top teams from four different regions, starting with Team Secret. The European giants sometimes cornered Vici Gaming many times, but they fought hard to fight back.
Next is his compatriot, PSG.LGD. With each passing game, Vici played with more confidence and comfort, slowly turning the tide and winning the next 2-1 victory at the tournament.
With both Europe and China falling, Vici met Fnatic, the representative from Southeast Asia, in the final win bracket. This series weighed on every minute of the game, when Fnatic had the advantage early in game 3.
Despite the disadvantage, Vici still beat the opponent in an important teamfight phase before pushing hard. With their third 2-1 win, the team secured the top 2 spot and waited for its opponent from the Fnatic vs. Virtus.pro in the finals of the losing bracket.
Virstus.pro didn’t have the poor performance of the beginning of the tournament, and defeated Secret to win a place in the finals of the losing bracket. As happened many times before, Fnatic completely destroyed VP in game 1.
But VP never let the first loss discourage them – they used it as momentum to fight. Game 2 lasted longer, it took up to 45 minutes for VP to find the gap. From there, VP gradually pushed the bot towers and barracks to win overwhelmingly in game 3
With this win, VP enters his third consecutive final in this 2018-2018 DPC, to face Vici Gaming.
The two sides constantly struggled back and forth from the beginning to the end of the series. Vici played calmly and confidently in the early game, winning game 1 with a score of 34-14, Paparazi’s Morphling was the leading hero.
The same situation played out in game 2: Virtus.pro lost in the early game and Paparazi looked very strong on Weaver. The difference comes from the Anti-Mage of RAMZES666. At the end of the game, his AM helped the team remove the difference in kills and equalized 1-1.

VG wasn’t happy about the opportunity he missed in game 2 and invested everything in the early game in game 3. Using Ori’s Bloodseeker, VG crushed VP in just 22 minutes, forcing opponents to type GG and get the match point advantage first.

In game 4, VP fought bravely with the ‘unmatched’ Storm Spirit from No[o]ne to bring the score to 2-2. After another close loss, Vici decided not to give up the chance to win. Using a powerful draft to push early, VG broke towers and wiped out VP in teamfight. Vici completes her Major journey, becoming the first Minor team to win a Major.

With the victory over Virtus.pro, Vici Gaming not only won the first prize from a total prize money of $1 million and 15,000 DPC points, but the Chinese boys also became the 4th team to qualify for The International 2019. Now, VG has overtaken EG and placed 3rd on the DPC rankings, with Fnatic jumping to 5th – just a few points away from securing a ticket to TI9.
