Twitch testing a dedicated stream feature for subscribers

Subscribers Stream Twitch

Twitch has begun testing a new feature called Subscriber Streams, which allows eligible streamers to “stream exclusively to subscribers.” These streams can only be viewed by those who subscribe to the channel, while the rest are only previewed and invited to subscribe.

To stream Subscriber Stream, streamers need to be a Twitch partner for at least 90 days, and have a clean record of the previous 90 “separate stream days” – that is, if the channel is suspended for any reason, you will have to start over.

“Like any stream on Twitch, Subscriber Streams are still subject to the Twitch Rules. Subscriber Stream will have a tag to make it easier to find, this tag will always appear at the top and cannot be removed.

The videos after the stream will be allowed to be viewed by subscribers, and the viewing rights can be adjusted through the Video Producer tab. Clips created from Subscriber Stream will not be limited to viewers, so if you want to control them, the streamer needs to use Clips Manager.

Twitter also emphasized that Subscriber Stream is a privilege, not a private stream. Subscriber Stream rights will be canceled if you are found to be streaming “private” things.

“They are smaller, more personal streams for your subscribers, Moderators and VIPs. Whether your content is streaming for all or just for loyal fans, the rules remain the same. All content must comply with the Terms of Service and Community Rules. Subscriber Stream is not used to circumvent those rules.”

Details about Subscriber Stream, including Q&A, are available on Twitch’s help website.
