The next season of Battlerite could be the last due to the declining player count

According to an announcement from Stunlock Studios, Battlerite will get a third Battle Pass later this July, but it could be the last. Due to the decrease in player count as well as the amount of investment, this highly praised MOBA hybrid will see a decrease in development. The studio will look at how best to manage Battlerite and the battle royale portion of the game, as it transitions to new projects.

“Given our current player base, we no longer see the development of Battlerite and Battlerite Royale as the main projects of the studio,” Stunlock wrote. “We’ve seen a steady decline in the number of players and players who spend money on the game, and a drop in revenue for our gameplay changes and promotional campaigns. While players are still willing to try Battlerite and Battlerite Royale for a while, keeping them is always the biggest challenge.”

With Battle Season 3, it will air on October 7, with many changes requested. The game will have a Public Custom Lobby for Arena, the Champion price will also be significantly reduced. All details about the new season will be updated next week.

“As for our side, we’ll continue to see how the games are served and what can be done for them as the team moves on to the next project,” the studio said. “We’re going to take the lessons from Battlerite – what works, what doesn’t, what we can do better, and beyond – to the next game and evolve. You’ll hear from us again in the future about Battlerite’s development plans and when the team’s next project is ready.”
