The Division 2 has been confirmed to be in the 2019 financial statements, according to the latest financial information from Ubisoft. This means that a sequel to Massive Entertainment’s multiplayer shooter could launch between now and March 2019. Ubisoft also announced the game’s launch during its E3 2018 event this June 11.
It is not clear if Ubisoft plans to launch The Division 2 sooner or later in the remaining months of this financial year, but it is guaranteed that the game will be available by March 2019. The first The Division released in March 2016, and grossed strong despite heavy criticism from reviews. The release of part 2 in March 2019 will put the game head-to-head with Bioware’s Anthem.
In anticipation of the 2019 financials, the company announced the remaining three AAA titles: The Division 2, The Crew 2, and an unnamed project. Ubisoft predicts sales of these three games to reach a total of 19 million copies, with a high probability that revenue will mainly be held by The Division 2 and the unnamed project. Predicting the unnamed project, it is possible that it is a sequel to the Assassin’s Creed or Far Cry franchise.
