Slender Man – Finding the origin of real-life legends

Unlike the creatures that haunted so many people’s minds, the legend of ghosts Slender Man Not born from movies or games.. It’s a product of real life photos. The story begins with a forum called Something Awful, where a member named Victor Surge posted 2 black and white photos. These two images depict a group of children playing together, and in the background is a tall, slender silhouette with unusually long limbs. In both photos, the face of this “person” is blurred and indistinct.

It was also from this photo that Slender Man began to become a shadow that haunts the Internet community, spawning countless conspiracy theories and flipping videos to find the true secret of this monstrous creature. One of the most popular YouTube video series revolving around Slender Man is Marble Hornets with countless haunting films among young people.

Rumor has it that Slender Man takes the form of a man with an unusual body, unusual height, long limbs and black tentacles sticking out from his back. Like Pennywise, Slender Man’s main target is children with weak souls, but not so that adults are safe when facing this creature. The scary point of Slender Man is that the more you learn and know about it, the more you will become its target. Up to a certain extent, Slender Man can teleport to your location.

When in a certain radius with this creature, Slender Man’s prey easily falls into permanent hallucinations and nightmares .. along with constant nosebleeds. In many cases these prey are left under Slender Man’s direct influence and behave under its command. This is what makes the image of Slender Man in general so scary and has a direct impact on real life. In 2014 in Wisconsin, USA, Anissa Weier and Morgan Geyser, both 12 years old, took their classmate Payton Leutner into the woods and stabbed her 19 times with a knife.. under the pretext of “impressing Slender Man”. . This incident shocked the entire US, causing people to reconsider the influence of this image.. simply because Slender Man, no matter how scary, is still just a fictional character born. caused by untrue stories on the Internet.

The two photos above are simply a product of a Photoshop contest made by author Eric Knudsen and the creepypasta stories that followed serve to add details to this fictional creature. Immediately after the incident, the image of Slender Man also began to appear in newspapers and television… there was even a reportage on HBO called “Beware The Slender Man”.
