Even though Hideo Kojima’s Silent Hill legacy for the PS4 has been abandoned for years, fans are still reminiscing about the Playable Teaser version – more commonly known as PT – and many wonder if the game was ever made, then what? What a hit it was. Fans can now re-visit Lisa or replay the super-horror demo for the first time. Called “SmoggyChips”, this author has released a remake prototype of this project, similar to the first version. Everyone can download and play on PC right now.
As you can see in the video below, SmoggyChip’s Silent Hill PT is still in development, so more will be added in the future. In addition, the project is only in the early stages, SmoggyChips will fix dozens of bugs in the early stages to ensure the game runs smoothly. Those interested in trying it out can download the game here, called Corridors.
Interestingly enough, SmoggyChip isn’t the only one doing a PC remake of PT. Another redditor with the moniker “LinusPixel” is also testing their prototype. LinusPixel uses a script to properly derive sounds, images and models from the original PT version of LinusPixel which can be downloaded here.
For those who missed the original PT version, you can now experience the Unreal Engine 4 version of SmoggyChip or LinusPixel to see what it’s like to ‘wet your pants’. Although these remakes are great and well-thought-out, the original PT is still the horror at its best.
Note that the Silent Hill project has now been stopped.
