PUBG is facing DDoS and the quality of the game is going down

PUBG has been constantly struggling and has been on a downward trend in recent months, as evidenced by the tone on the Steam forums and Reddit. People are constantly complaining about crashes, jerks and hacks in the game. Some of the issues just started in Season 6, while others have been around since last year.

PUBG has addressed these issues in an update detailing their causes and remedial plan. The developer has “solved most” of the team deathmatch issues in Arcade, but it looks like they have a lot more work to do. Game quality has deteriorated since January and continues to happen.

“It’s difficult in that some glitches only affect certain hardware, or occur in situations that are hard to reproduce.” Update noted. “To fix these problems requires tracking down the exact cause, which means reconstructing the exact steps that led to the error.”

PUBG is also a victim of DDoS attacks. In November, the frequency peaked at an all-time high, and it picked up again this month. In order to fix the problem, PUBG Corp had to run some tests, but it affected the quality of the game.

“While testing defense solutions against many DDoS from external infrastructure providers, server locations were often further away than normal locations, resulting in higher pings and other network problems. for several players,” the blog noted. “Additionally, many people experience persistent packet loss as a result of testing the DDoS defense solutions deployed by these vendors.”

PUBG Corp. doesn’t want the attackers to know what they’re doing, that’s why players aren’t notified. In return, the impact of DDoS attacks has been reduced by nearly 85%.

Gamers are also reporting custom match parameters that haven’t worked properly since the latest patch – it’s the result of improvements the team put into the custom match programming. The issue is still not fully resolved, but the current adjustments are fine. They also fixed some custom match bugs.

As for the hack, PUBG Corp will share details of their plans in the community letter and development journey post next month. For now, the company has many teams and “outside resources” to fight hacking, and this is one of PUBG Corp’s top priorities.
