Prologue, the new game from PUBG Corp and Brendan “PlayerUnknown” Greene has just released a trailer lasting just 30 seconds, showing the unusual forest. The trailer was shown at The Game Awards 2019, if we want to know more details, maybe we have to wait. However, PlayerUnknown has confirmed this is not PUBG 2, nor is it a shooter.
In an interview with Forbes, Greene explained that Prologue played an important role in the team’s experiments with new technology and big games.
“This is the first step in my journey,” he said. “We founded the studio, with the goal of experimenting with new technology. Now, we are taking the first steps in building new technologies, and Prologue is the first step into the new world. I wanted to take this opportunity to bring something new to the world.”
From DayZ mods to PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, Greene has participated in many multiplayer shooter projects with an element of survival, but he has not been able to freely develop. “With so many other teams, they’re always in shape. I was called to be creative, and we will support you.”
As he transitions from PUBG to new projects, Greene said he doesn’t want to make a sequel, but what he and the team are developing is currently unclear. However, the project can be large. His dream is to build worlds “hundreds of kilometers wide, with over a thousand people”, but it will certainly have major hurdles. Through Prologue, Greene hopes they can figure out how to get around them.
