However, it’s not the only reason people think Ubisoft might announce a new Splinter Cell game. The latest installment in the series is Splinter Cell: Blacklist, which was released in 2013. When compared to previous Splinter Cell games like 2010’s Splinter Cell: Conviction, Splinter Cell: Double Agent and Splinter Cell: Essentials came out. released in 2006. This means that the five-year gap between Blacklist and the next Splinter cell will be the longest between the two titles in the series. Therefore, fans believe that it is time for Ubisoft to release a sequel.

In addition, Ubisoft also revealed new information about this series 9 months ago. Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot says Splinter Cell is one of his favorite series and something the company talks about “a lot”. From this statement, rumors about a new game being developed spread. Around the same time, Guillemot gave another interview when he said that all the games in the Tom Clancy series were coming out regularly and Splinter Cell had not been forgotten.

With The Division 2 confirmed and the possibility of Ghost Recon: Wildlands launching a sequel unlikely, the question is which other Tom Clancy game is Guillemot referring to? A sequel to Splinter Cell is likely to appear, but fans will probably have to wait until E3 2018 for more details.
