New CSGO Update significantly improves FPS with texture streaming technology

CSGO’s latest update has just added a custom texture streaming configuration, which will likely help increase FPS for the game.

Texture streaming allows textures to load from the user’s hard drive only when needed, reducing memory and increasing game performance significantly.

Even on powerful computers, texture streaming makes a big difference in FPS especially on new maps, which are often difficult to run on older PCs. Even with PCs that prioritize ‘performance’ (smooth play is better), FPS is increased by 10-20 because textures are only run when needed.

This technology is not new, but it is definitely an update that many people need. After a lot of information about CSGO’s Source 2 port, the game community was very excited to see a new update recently. Unfortunately, it is only 20MB and is not a port to the new engine. New CSGO update still doesn’t have Source 2
