Last February, Square Enix announced the mobile version of Final Fatasy 7 called The First Soldier. The game is considered a side story of Final Fantasy 7 Remake and is part of Square Enix’s expansion of the Final Fantasy universe. Although it is unknown when The First Soldier will be released, players will have the opportunity to get their hands on the game earlier than expected with a closed test that will take place from June 1-7.
Final Fantasy 7 The First Soldier is a game Battle Royale Set in Midgar 30 years before the events of Final Fantasy 7. In the game, the player takes on the role of a candidate trying to prove his worth in front of the Shira army to become a full-fledged warrior. The main weapon of the game is a gun, but gamers can also use magic and other tools to defeat enemies.
Players are allowed to choose from many different classes such as Warrior, Mage or Monk, each class possesses a unique ability. In addition to other candidates, gamers also have to face monsters on the outskirts of the city. Defeating them will give the player the experience points needed to level up and unlock equipment.
The First Soldier is just one of many Final Fantasy spinoffs recently announced by Square Enix. The DLC FF7R Episode INTERmission, due out at the end of May, puts players in the role of quirky ninja Yuffie as she embarks on a mission in Midgar before encountering Cloud Strife and his teammates. One title mobile games different from the name Final Fantasy 7 Ever Crisis will retell the plot of the previous Final Fantasy 7 in a completely new, cute, and classic style.
