It’s been a long journey for Mineski and LGD Gaming to reach the finals of the winner’s bracket – they’ve faced and beaten many big names. The Southeast Asian team hopes to leave a strong mark after performing poorly at last year’s PGL Open Bucharest. No one expected Mineski to perform so melancholy. But the barrier for Mineski to get to the top 2 is LGD, the team also wants to mark their return. Team China hasn’t had a great run in this DPC season and this is their chance.
Mineski’s draft was perfect, picking Huskar and Oracle in the opening match of the BO3 series. From the very beginning, it was clear that LGD couldn’t fight team fights. And only at 17 minutes, LGD lost a barrack. Less than 5 minutes later, Mineski took down the mid lane barrack without difficulty. Mineski’s flag flew and the team qualified for the finals of DAC 2018 – making their own Dota 2 history as the first Southeast Asian team to qualify for the final of a Major. The team also secured the top 2 of the Major and will move up to 4th in the DPC rankings. As for LGD, their journey is not over as the boys still have a chance to reach the final from the losing bracket final – their opponent will be Virtus.pro tomorrow.
Mineski are the first Grand Finalists of DAC 2018. They are also the first EVER SEA team to make the Grand Final of a Dota 2 Major. Congratulations.
