Microsoft has just released an urgent update to fix the blue screen issue.

Microsoft has just released an urgent update KB5001028 to fix an issue that causes Windows 10 to have a blue screen when connecting to a WPA3 WiFi network. This error has just appeared in the cumulative update of Windows 10 1909.

Specifically, updates KB4598298 – released on January 21, 2021 and KB4601315 rolled out in Patch Tuesday patch on February 9, 2021.

This error will cause Windows 10 computers to have a blue screen (Blue Screen of Death – BSOD) when trying to connect to a WPA3 WiFi network. If you do not know, WPA3 is the recommended wireless security protocol for WiFi networks. At the present time, WPA3 is rated as having the highest level of security.

Besides downloading and installing the emergency update, Microsoft also recommends that users use the following methods to fix the problem:

Update your Windows 10 computer to version 2004 or 20H2 Connect to a WPA2 WiFi network. To do this you need to reconfigure the router or access point. Connect to the internet with a network cable

Currently, update KB5001028 has been rolled out via Windows Update , WSUS and via the Microsoft Update update page.
