How to Enable Extensions in Google Chrome’s Incognito Mode

Now, you can completely use the allowed extensions in incognito mode.

By default, Google Chrome does not run extensions in Incognito mode. The reason is simple: These add-ons can invade user privacy. However, if you want, you can still give permission for an extension to work in private browsing mode on Chrome, by following these simple steps:

First, open the “Chrome” browser. Click the “Utilities” icon in the toolbar, which looks like a jigsaw puzzle. When the add-ons menu pops up, select “Manage Extensions”.

If you don’t see this puzzle icon in the menu bar, click the three vertical dots button in the upper-right corner of the screen and select “More Tools”. Then in the menu that appears, click on “Extensions”.

When the “Extensions” tab appears, find the name of the extension that you want to enable in incognito mode and click the “Details” button next to it.

On the extension’s details page, scroll down and find the “Allow in incognito” option, click the toggle switch on the side to toggle it on.

Warning: Extensions you enable in incognito mode may record your browsing history or other private details, and potentially share that data with third parties. They will work just like in standard browsing mode. Make sure you fully trust the extension before giving it access to your private browsing.

Repeat the same steps for extensions that you allow incognito mode.

Once done, close the “Extensions” tab and the settings you just made will take effect immediately. Now, you can completely use the allowed extensions in incognito mode.
