Fortnite is a golden egg for developers and publishers of Epic games, but it also provides a lot of income for the game’s best gamers. While Fortnite players can’t get the same sales as Epic Games, they still have impressive numbers.
To better understand the success of some professional Fortnite players, EsportsEarnings has released the revenue of several professional players. There have been a ton of Fortnite tournaments going on this past year, including Keemstar’s Fortnite Fridays, Epic games’ own Summer, and Fall Skirmish events, all of which feature lucrative prize pools.
The rankings reveal the top 25 professional Fortnite players, starting from Bizzle representing Ghost Gaming to NickMercs of team Nadeshot, 100 Thieves.
Worth mentioning is that some famous names in Fortnite are not on this list, like Ninja, Timthetatman and Dr.Lupo. While Ninja is considered to be the most successful Fortnite player (not to mention streaming on Twitch), his income is pretty average in Fortnite tournaments. But Ninja (real name Tyler Blevins) also talked about the problems in tournaments and why he doesn’t participate in many tournaments: his focus is on the quality of his stream and his family.
While some of the names on the list above have low Fortnite bonuses, their earnings are higher thanks to their Twitch popularity, sponsorships, and other sources of income. For example, NickMercs currently has over 40,000 subscribers (Twitch), or $120,000/month, depending on how much he splits with Twitch.
These numbers show that Fortnite’s value is not limited to revenue from decorative skins. Players can either make money from the tournament or simply play for fun, or a combination of both. And these are just earnings reports from the major leagues; there are a lot of small tournaments going on with too high number of participants.
