How has Dota 2 changed and evolved over the past year?

COURIER

NEW ITEMs

NEW HEROS IN DOTA 2

Two new heroes introduced at TI9 were Snapfire and Void Spirit.

Shrine has been removed from the game. Shrine used to be a place to heal and mana for anyone near it when activated.

Shrines removed with Outpost can be contested in the active gameplay support jungle. In the past, Shrine discouraged active gameplay as invading the jungle was considered quite risky.

In addition, the recent change also removes the most networth-based comeback mechanism. Instead, Valve increases the Gold and XP bounty for killing the kill streak.

CHANGE HERO

Hero now has a maximum level of 30. At level 30, all talents are unlocked. It adds gameplay in super long battles. By tweaking more power into the super late phase, it can help players finish the game to avoid the game dragging on too long.

The GPM and XPM talents (gold and XP gain) are completely gone from the game. The only passive source of gold income comes from the neutral item Philosopher’s Stone.

UPDATED IN PRO DOTA 2
