Hearthstone: Update October 9 nerf Discover mechanic, improved auto-deck builder

The new patch is out in preparation for Tombs of Terror. The first two chapters of Adventure will be released on September 17. Tombs of Terror will bring the familiar solo adventure Dungeon Run with a few changes. It will have new Heroes, Hero Powers, treasures as well as bosses and more.

However, the point of this patch lies elsewhere – Discover Mechanic has now changed. In the past, when cards were randomly discovered, they consisted of Neutral and Class cards with Class outputs up to 400%. This number has now completely disappeared and each card has an equal chance of appearing. This is considered a heavy nerf for the Discover cards. For example, Stonehill Defneder was very popular in Paladin because of the class spawn rate – without it, this card wouldn’t be used much in the class. Omega Assembly was also nerfed next to the power hero “Discover a Mech” by Dr. Boom, Mad Genius. Class Warrior Mech is considered the best choice to get more Omega Devastator, Dyn-o-matic or Tomb Warden. Likewise, it also nerds another Warrior card – Frightenned Flunky (essentially a 2-mana version of Stonhill Defender). This means that the rate of discovering one more Flunky, Armagedillo or Tomb Warden is now much lower. This change has a much bigger impact on the game than getting nerfed by one card.

Another change is that the automatic deck builder system in Wild will be smarter. The truth is that it doesn’t work well in Wild, even though the Standard side is fine.

Tombs of Terror! – Chapters 1&2 Released September 17th

Tombs of Terror is the newest Solo Adventure in Hearthstone with something new:

Elise, Brann, Finley and Reno have sharpened their crafting skills and are ready to save the world. Choose a Hero and gain access to cards from two classes, plus new Hero Powers and treasures!

The League of EVIL has unleashed the plague lords on the world, and only you can stop them! Huge monsters with huge amount of health. While you may not be able to defeat them the first time, you can continue what you have done on the next journey!

Unlocked by completing challenges and bosses along the way, you’ll get lots of magical loot and powerful cards in Tombs of Terror.

Purchase the Deluxe Adventure Bundle to receive a Card Back and a random Legendary Saviors of Uldum!

• When Tombs unlock on September 17th, Adventure standard will cost less, but there will be no random Card Back and Legendary.
• Chapters 3, 4 and Grand Finale will be out in the coming weeks
