The Rise of Shadows expansion has officially aired on Hearthstone, meaning the Twitch community is quite busy finding new ideas.
Here are a few standout decks from some popular Hearthstone streamers:
Prelate Paladin by Disguised Toast
Jeremy “Disguised Toast” Wang has a hobby of taking strange decks and using them to ‘act’ meta decks.
With this deck, Toast takes advantage of the new Rise of Shadows cards by combining them with Immortal Prelate from Rastakhan’s Rumble. Immortal Prelate is a 2-mana 1/3 minion with Deathrattle putting the card back in the deck. When Immortal Prelate returns to the deck, it retains all of its previous buffs. It’s like Kingsbane Rogue, only minion.
MEGA-Windfury Shaman by Kripp
Octavian “Kripp” Morosan is the Gandalf of the gaming world. No matter what game he played, Kripp got the hang of the game in no time. Thanks to his brain, Kripp often creates strong and unique decks. This deck is quite successful on the stream with the new Mega-Windfury mechanism.
Mega-Windfury comes from the new Whirlwind Tempest minion. The 8-mana card, 6/6 minions has an effect that helps all minions with Windfury gain Mega-Windfury. This means that, instead of Windfury’s double attack, your minion can attack up to four times.
Silence Priest of Dog
David “Dog” Caero is one of the most watched Hearthstone streamers on the planet. Dog is not only a pro player, he also reached Legend rank 1 with Undatakah Druid before being nerfed in the first round of Rastakhan’s Rumble. He tested a lot of decks on the first day of Rise of Shadows, and the version of Silence Priest below brought him much success.
Although not used much in the early stages of Rastakhan’s Rumble, Silence Priest is buffed up quite a bit thanks to Rise of Shadows. New cards like Unsleeping Soul make it easier to draw to silence your minions, while increasing their value. Unsleeping Soul is a 4-mana spell that silences one of your minions and summons its copy. Follow Dog if you want to see more unique meta decks.
The expansion has just been released, so don’t be discouraged if you haven’t found a deck you like. Craft cards carefully to avoid wasting dust, because the meta of Rise of Shadows hasn’t really taken shape yet!
