Dual Class
Multiclass cards are not a new idea. They were first introduced in Mean Streets of Gadgetzan as three class cards. However, they are only a small part of the expansion and then don’t have a big impact. Everything will be different now. Not only are cards limited to two classes, we also have 40 of these!
Dual class cards will combine the mechanics and synergy from its two classes. That is, if you use a card in a certain class, you can take advantage of a special mechanic that was previously exclusive to the second class. For example, you can add a Combo card to the Mage, or get an extra Mana Crystal with a Shaman. In theory, this should open up a lot of gameplay for every class.
Here are the class pairs:
- Druid/Hunter
- Hunter/Demon Hunter
- Demon Hunter/Warlock
- Warlock/Priest
- Priest/Paladin
- Paladin/Warrior
- Warrior/Rogue
- Rogue/Mage
- Mage/Shaman
- Shaman/Druid
Spellburst
Spellburst is a new keyword, appearing in minions and weapons. When Spellburst minion/weapon is used, you can activate its effect by casting any spell. However, this is only a one-time effect, meaning that after using the first spell, you cannot activate it again. It does NOT work like leaves Wild Pyromancer.
The Spellburst effect is usually strong, stronger than what you see on the Battlecry card. However, they need a spell to activate. That is, timing is very important. Ideally, you’d want to trigger the effect immediately after using the minion/weapon, but that’s not always the case. Do you run the risk of just launching the minion and possibly letting it be removed before the effect is activated? Or do you wait until you can do both on the same turn? Sometimes you want to combine it with the spell you want, not any spells in your hand (Diligent Notetaker).
