Fortnite Battle Royale: review the latest updates in 3.1.0

What’s New in Fortnite Battle Royale?

As you probably already know, the Battle Royale genre is on the rise like a kite. One of the most popular BR games today is Fortnite Battle Royale from Epic Games.

Available on PC, Xbox One and PS4, Fortnite Battle Royale puts 100 players on the same map, which can be played solo or squad up to 4 people. At the beginning, you will be thrown on an island empty-handed and you will have to collect items slowly and fight until you or your team is the last survivor in the match.

Like the Battle Royale games, Fortnite has a map that shrinks as the match progresses, pulling players closer together.

Epic Games updates Fortnite Battle Royale very often, through patches and updates. Here you will see the latest changes in the game.

What’s in the latest Fortnite update?

Season 3 of Fortnite has arrived – we’ve had 2 updates since season 3 arrived. The first update of its kind, patch 3.1.0, brings a brand new map and lots of bug fixes and much-needed improvements.

The new map section is located on the southern edge of the map called Lucky’s Landing. The new weapon in the game is the Hunting Rifle gun. This is a single shot gun, suitable for medium to long distances. You will find it in crates or loot on the floor.

Players will also notice a change in item drop rate: drop rate is reduced for common revolver, tactical shotgun and burst assault rifle, but rarer levels have increased rate.

The latest patch, 3.1.1, brings nothing new to the face of the game. Its main purpose is to fix the client crashing for some people.

Benefits of Twitch Prime

Those who have Twitch Prime and use Fortnite will be happy to know that they have free goodies in their hands. With a Prime account, you’ll have access to the Fortnite Twitch Prime Pack, which includes skins available on all three platforms.

The bundle includes two exclusive sliders and outfits: the Havoc Outfit and Back Bling, plus the Sub Commander Outfit and Slipstream Glider.

PS4 players can also download the PS4 Celebration pack for free right now, which also includes a glider and an outfit.

What is the Battle Pass?

The Battle Pass is an item that can be purchased in Fortnite and will give you quite unique in-game rewards.

As players complete the daily quests and level up, they will receive Battle Stars that will be used to unlock tiers in their Battle Pass. With each unlock tier will get free and premium rewards. The tiers will change with the seasons but in season 3 you will get around 100 items in each Battle Pass, on average it takes between 75-100 hours to unlock them all.

All Battle Pass holders will get the free rewards when they unlock, but only Premium Pass holders will get the premium rewards. The Battle Pass Premium can only be purchased for in-game V bucks, not real money.

You can buy a Battle Pass for about $10 from the Battle Pass tab in the game menu.

What’s new in the near future?

Fortnite gets updates very often, so every few weeks you will likely see updates that fix bugs or change gameplay slightly to balance the game.

Recently Epic Games announced that they will be adding jetpacks to the game. But in the end they postponed due to some last minute problems.

In the long run, Epic Games has said that they will add communication features and a Limited Time mode as well as allow custom matchmaking.
