With the controversy surrounding the economic topic in CSGO, everyone is trying to find a solution and hoping that Valve will listen to them. The CSGO economic system has had a big change in the last March 13 update.
One of the big problems with the new money system comes from the fact that the system seems to be working against teams that start well early in the game.
In case you don’t know, here’s how the new money system works:
- Lost 0 rounds: $1,400
- Lose 1 round: $1,900
- Lost 2 rounds: $2,400
- Lost 3 rounds: $2,900
- Lose 4 rounds or more: $3,400
In the new system, there is no definition of ‘reset money’. Instead, the team that loses the round will reduce the bonus to $2,900 if it wins again, and then to $2,400 if it wins and moves on. Each winning round reduces the number of losing rounds by 1. However, the unlimited number of losing rounds can create big problems.
A team that loses 6 or 7 rounds in a row will receive the full $3,400 for 3-4 rounds even after winning multiple rounds. Meanwhile, the team that initially took the lead was quickly cornered.
Please cap loss bonus at 5 rounds. Please cap loss bonus at 5 rounds. Please cap loss bonus at 5 rounds. Please cap loss bonus at 5 rounds. Please cap loss bonus at 5 rounds. Please cap loss bonus at 5 rounds. Please cap loss bonus at 5 rounds. Please cap loss bonus at 5 rounds.

Team Liquid’s Jonathan “ELiGE” Jablonowski supports the idea of a five-round loss limit, as well as adding another idea. ELiGE says the game could go back to how it was before: “The money system with the bonus round loss always starts at 1,900 instead of just after the pistol round.”
It’d be cool to see @csgo_dev try capping loss bonus at 5 or if it still isn’t working as they’d like then old money system with loss bonus always starting with 1900 instead of just after pistol.
That way, if you get resetyou only have to eco once for 4300 total the round after

This method will reduce the difficulty of double eco. The extra coins will give the team a better chance to get a gun after saving a round. It helps the winning team not lose their breath even if they lose a few rounds.
With that said, we eventually have to look at why valve changed the money: to diminish eco rounds / help the losing team stop being down and out after getting reset. However with the new money, it still allows for resets but instead is punishing the team going up in the begin 1/2

A game with back and forth rounds but a winning side up a lot will still be reset after a loss, win then a loss just like old money. I personally like the idea of old money system and always being 1900 —> 2400 which is a healthier economy for the losing side of exchanges

So, in your opinion, which is better: the 5 round limit or the new opinion of ELiGE?
