Watch Last Week (Part 4)
Let’s take a look at the list of featured games for the week of July 16, 2018:
Maiden & Spell (demo) by Nicholas Watson
This is a demo of a one-on-one fighting game with eye-catching, dynamic graphics. You will move around the screen, firing a few shots before moving to another location to shoot again. It combines Persona style, and players will definitely have to confront the rain of bullets on the screen. You can download the game here.
Daydreams in Red by David Cribb
Daydreams in Red takes you on an adventure. It’s a sad and light journey: getting the character out of bed to the train, to work, to a solo dinner, and back to bed. For the most part, this is a game with a storyline that does not allow interaction, players can only move the camera when the character moves from place to place in the indie rock music. This limit partly speaks to the hopelessness of the main character, before the game suddenly reveals the dark part of the plot. You can download the game here.
Temple of the Wumpus of whatnot
No hide-and-seek game is as creative and clever as Temple of the Wumpus, as it ditches the traditional combat and trap-avoidance systems that leave you scrambling to think through the game’s intricate levels. You have 5 tests at the beginning to guess where Wumpus is, through prayer, lighting candles, and hoping Wumpus will be there to greet you.
Hints were scattered everywhere in the form of letters. As you try to piece together the mysteries, you’ll soon discover your surroundings become puzzling – does this hint that Wumpus is nearby? You can download the game here.
Sand Gardeners Cashbags
Cashbags is inspired by the famous Papers, Please game. But instead of taking place in a gloomy, unstable setting, Cashbags takes place in a playful, humorous hotel. Being a hotel receptionist means you have to pick up guests, receive money, and give them keys, all the while dealing with interruptions like phone calls, emails, and unwanted guests. You can download the game here.
