Fable 4 announced on Xbox Series X as Fable

After months of rumors, Microsoft has announced Fable 4. This will be the new journey of the Fable brand, developed by the new team at Playground Games studio (famous for Forza Horizon games).

The trailer begins with a fairy flying through a magical forest, before being eaten by a toad. Very Fable!

Fable has almost disappeared since Fable 3 was released in 2010, but the game has many side stories. One of them – Fable Legends, the action co-op RPG, was canceled in 2016.

Back in early 2018, the news started that Playground Games, the studio behind the successful Forza Horizon series was developing a new Fable. Later in the year, Microsoft acquired Playground to invest in its own first-party developer.

Since then, rumors have continued to claim the studio’s second team is still continuing the Fable franchise (Lionhead was the series’ original studio but has since closed).

Playground Games is famous for making Forza Horizon, an open-world racing game inspired by Turn 10’s racing simulation game Forza Motorsport. The studio has continuously hired programmers with experience in RPG game development. , suggesting that the next project of Playground games will not be related to the racing genre.
