Pokémon Home is a cloud storage and online transaction service for Pokemon games. It is considered the home of Pokemon, where tamers store and manage all the Pokemon they own, bringing monsters to current games across multiple platforms, including Nintendo Switch, Android, and iOS.
Which games can you transfer Pokemon from?
You can only transfer Pokemon from Pokémon Bank, Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee and Pikachu, Pokémon Sword and Shield, and Pokémon GO (currently not available) to Pokémon Home.
Note that transferring Pokemon from Pokémon Bank and Pokémon GO to Pokémon Home alone is a one-way trip. That is, after transferring, the monsters cannot return.
If you transfer Pokemon from Let’s Go, Eevee and Pikachu directly to Sword and Shield, they also can’t go back to the original game. But if you switch from Let’s Go, Eevee and Pikachu to Pokémon Home, you can switch back.
How to transfer Pokemon from old games
Many old Pokemon games like Pokémon Ruby, Sapphire, Diamond, and Pear have a variety of methods of transferring between them. Using the Nintendo DS and Nintendo 3DS and the methods within the game itself (which vary from game to game), you can transfer your Pokémon to Pokémon Bank. From there, transfer them to Pokémon Home, using the Nintendo Switch version. You cannot transfer Pokémon from Pokémon Bank to Home using only 3DS and mobile versions.
After selecting the switch button in the main menu, Pokémon Home will send you a code. Enter the code into your Nintendo 3D’s Pokémon Bank and then freely move from Bank to Home. You can’t use Home while switching so please wait a moment for it to finish!
