EternaLEnVy blames Valve for the lack of communication in the Ohaiyo case

cropped PA290329 - EmergenceingameJacky “EternaLEnVy” Mao told the story from his perspective of replacing Ohaiyo with UNiVeRsE.

A lengthy interview on “HotCox” revealed information about replacing his former teammate, as well as his analysis of the transfer and who is really at fault here:

There was a time when Ohaiyo didn’t really try his best, didn’t play Dota as much as the other members, and refused to change or correct his mistakes. However, he is an extremely active player and the team enjoyed playing with him.

Johan “pieliedie” Åström was once nearly kicked by the management, but EternaLEnVy defended him.

Everyone wanted to replace Ohaiyo after The Summit 8. The team wanted Ludwig “zai” Wåhlberg and David “Moo” Hull to join before UNiVeRsE arrived, but neither of them wanted to leave the team.

The most to blame in this regard is the timing of the transfer because Valve announced the transfer issue too late and ignored Fnatic’s questions about the matter. Forced the team to put UNiVeRse in the middle of the qualifiers and couldn’t announce earlier

The team did not notify Ohaiyo in advance because it was uncertain whether the transfer would be successful and did not want it to affect Ohaiyo’s ability to compete in the remaining matches. Envy admits it’s morally wrong, but as captain, he feels it’s his responsibility not to compromise the quality of the team by not informing Ohaiyo beforehand.

Envy decided to choose UNiVeRsE over Ohaiyo for reasons of better communication, larger hero pool and better carry game.

Commenting on this drama, Mineski CEO Kenchi Yap and Mineski team captain Chai “Mushi” Yee Fung (Ohaiyo’s close friend) also shared their views. CEO Kenchi Yap’s comment was a bit more vulgar, to the point that Mushi had to apologize to Fnatic himself afterwards.

Everyone including me was angry and felt that Ohaiyo was being treated unfairly. But after thinking about this for a while, as teams around the world are changing players, especially now at the transfer stage. Ohaiyo is one of the best offlaners in the world, but those who know DOTA better will understand that Universe suits EE’s style of play better. I believe people don’t hate Fnatic for this replacement, but hate the way it turned out. Ohaiyo is a mature and thorough person. If the team told him about the roster change before the qualifiers and asked Ohyo for help, I’m sure he would agree. In addition, Ohaiyo may have more time to find a new team before the transfer window closes. We can’t change anything right now, so we hope that Ohaiyo can find a new home as soon as possible! Hopefully other teams will learn this lesson and not make the same mistake

Mushi speaking

Following the sudden announcement of replacing Ohaiyo with UNiVeRse in Fnatic on January 13. Ohaiyo posted the emotional comment on her facebook.

The reactions surrounding the incident forced Patrik ‘cArn’ Sättermon, CEO of Fnatic released an official document explaining this issue as well as the decisions behind the incident.
