Virtus.pro’s Alexey “Solo” Berezin has had a nightmare time trying to get his new roster back to the glory days of last season. Now, this obsession still persists. The team just finished the DreamLeague Season 13 Major group stage without a win.
Virtus.pro is one of only two teams that have yet to win a match in the tournament, with them being Chaos Esports Club. They are the first two names to appear in the losing branch of DreamLeague Season 13.
After losing to Alliance before, VP was forced to face Reality Rift. The Southeast Asian team claimed the top seed in their region, but were narrowly lost to Invictus Gaming in the opening match.
Veteran captain Wong “NutZ” Jeng Yih of Reality Rift is the one leading his team into the winning bracket, a battle no one expected them to win.
Virtus.pro in game 1 played solidly, with Drow Ranger from Egor “epileptick1d” Grigorenko and Vladimir’s Puck “No.[o]ne” Minenko. In theory, the advantage clearly belonged to VP, but Reality was the team that turned the tide to win the match.
Vicent “AlaCrity” Teck Yoong’s Meepo is finally farming strong enough to lead the team. Combined with Ravdan “Hustla” Narmandakh’s Rubick, the Southeast Asian boys stretched the game to their advantage.
Game 2 was not as advantageous as game 1 with the CIS team when the draft lineup was unclear. That helps Reality Rift’s Templar Assassin and Leshrac completely crush VP.
VP tries to find bloodline with No .’s Death Prophet[o]ne, but didn’t have enough firepower to counter Reality’s brute force. VP is only enough to slightly dent the opponent, but cannot dominate.
Reality then finished the first game with confidence, sending Virtus.pro down to the loser bracket and giving themselves a chance to advance from the winning bracket.
