Dota 2: Top strongest hero pos 2 mid patch 7.31

I feel like the recent patches don’t focus much on the pos 2 mid hero, but that doesn’t mean this role is no longer important. Mid now changes the trend from late game hero to space tempo. Or at least heroes that can get online fast, early.

HUSKAR

Huskar was mentioned in the recent Tutorial to play and counter Huskar. When it comes to pub games, Huskar is among the most flawed heroes of the current meta.

Most of it comes from the green stick. Previously, when unable to fight an opponent who had BKB, Huskar quickly disappeared from the game. Unless Huskar can overwhelm the early game to the point where the opponent has no way to recover and Huskar reaches level 25 in time.

And now, in the mid-game, Huskar can be a very strong support hero for the team. Taunt is Spell Immunity-piercing, Undispellable disable (can not dispel). And yet, it also prevents Force Staff in most situations. This is probably the strongest disable in the game. 3 seconds is enough for you to take down an important target if the team carry is ready.

This doesn’t mean we can ignore Armlet, BKB, Halberd, but the green stick is what definitely helps Huskar a lot more than before.

STORM SPIRIT

After 7.30 and 7.31 buffs, Storm Spirit is in a very good position. Hero is not as strong as before, but with many cheap mana reduction items and mana recovery, Storm Spirit can become an extremely annoying hero early game.

There are no tricks to playing Storm Spirit. With one or two Null Talisman early game and Kaya and Sange after, mobility, survivability, and damage output become very high. In games where the laning phase is going great, some players even go to Witch Blade for extra DPS.

One of the most popular builds for SS is Revenant’s Brooch and this item is extremely effective in some matches. Armor piercing late game can create a lot of trouble for the strongest hand carry. Not only is it nuke 5 times, but Storm also has a choice when to use it, making a huge difference, especially against BKB targets.

The direction towards the green stick is equally noticeable. Similar to Huskar, it allows Storm Spirit to become a powerful auxiliary hero. The green staff comes in handy when Storm is less effective against enemies with extended BKB duration.

TEMPLAR ASSASSIN

This hero probably won’t leave the meta unless directly nerfed. IceFrog doesn’t necessarily have to be a strong nerf, but TA is currently one of the few heroes who can still farm the new jungle as fast as the old one. This makes people depend on TA in the game too much.

Very few changes to this pos 2 mid hero in the new patch. You rush Dragon Lance, Desolator, Blink Dagger, BKB and then kill the supports. Later, TA increased to Daedalus for more damage and upgraded to Swift Blink, Hurricane Pike. When confronting Ghost Scepter and Ethereal, Nullifier is the solution for you.

The team will often need to eat the first two Roshans, which is as easy as going to the market with TA. With the second Shard and Aegis, the Templar Assassin often wants to end the match right here. Overall, TA’s gameplay and game plan has a clear, predictable formula over the past year. The only reason why the hero wins continuously even at high rank is because TA is buffed a bit too much.

EPILOGUE

In addition to Templar Assassin, we see a few more new faces in the top hero pos 2 mid patch 7.31 in pub. This is a good signal. The author is glad that Huskar, who disappeared for a long time, is back in the meta. However, Huskar is currently very upset and feels the need to be corrected.
