According to Vici Gaming’s post on their Weibo account, the date of The International 2019 has been confirmed and we are only a few months away before this prestigious event kicks off.
In the image above, the TI9 group stage will run from August 16-18 before the main event takes place from August 20-25, 2019. Note that the above information has not been officially confirmed by the company. Valve. However, if you try to search on Google you will get the same time as above.
Currently, four teams have confirmed their participation in The International 2019 – they have accumulated enough Dota 2 Pro Circuit points for the season and will definitely go to Shanghai, China this August. We still have 8 more teams that will participate through the DPC points system. With the last two Majors of the season (MDL Disneyland Paris and EPICENTER Major 2019), there will probably be more teams winning tickets to attend. However, for teams that don’t accumulate enough points, TI9 still has a regional qualifier: each team from 6 regions. But details on this regional qualifier are yet to be announced – but they will most likely take place in July 2019.
Below is a provisional Statistical DPC scoreboard, which will change soon while the Minor is in progress and then the Major.
The International 2019 will take place at the Mercedes Benz Arena in Shanghai, China. This is the first time TI has been held in China. Last year, PSG.LGD – runner-up – lost to OG in the finals even though OG didn’t give themselves any points in last year’s DPC system (due to changing members).
